In Our Hearts Forever

Zoe - From horror to happiness

Zoe, a beautiful petite boxer, had been living on the streets of Los Angeles for almost half of her short life. She was approximately eight to nine months old, but nearby residents told us they had seen her now and again for the past few months.

We found out about Zoe when a resident of Compton called to tell us of a dog that had been hit by a car. After she was hit, she was able to scamper away and ran to a nearby abandoned building. We hung up the phone and immediately began our mission. We did not find her until day two of our undaunted search. She was laying in a corner of a graffiti-marked abandoned building ----- cowering and shivering between broken glass and piles of trash. We put a blanket around her and scooped her up in our arms. We brought her home until the vet's office was to open in a few hours. Zoe had a broken leg, hip, and pelvis. She was extremely malnourished and full of parasites. After two weeks at the vet's, A.A.P.A.'s president brought her home where she spent the next month recovering.

After several more visits to the vet, Zoe was adopted to a loving home in Irvine, CA. We still visit her and know she will be loved and happy for the rest of her life. Her new owner, Trisha, always thanks us for the joy we brought to her when we brought Zoe to her house. We thank her for giving Zoe a new life full of love, and to all those who support us with their generous donations.

Zoe's medical bills were over $2000 and we couldn't continue our work without friends like you. Please continue to partnership with us. There are so many animals like Zoe who so desperately need help. We can only do this with your ongoing support; and, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
