Animal Abuse Prevention Agency

Volunteers

1) Distribute spay/neuter literature (English/Spanish) in your neighborhood, local shops, restaurants, anywhere with permission. This will explain to everyone the importance of altering their animals. It will let everyone know that there are programs out there to allow everyone to have their animals altered at low-cost or free. There is no reason or excuse to have an unaltered animal, and in Los Angeles, it's the law!

2) Transport animals to local vets for those who are unable.

3) Foster homes ( must be approved) for temporary housing until animal is rehabilitated  and ready to be put up for adoption.

4) Adopt! (must be approved) if you are a forever, loving home, and have room in your heart and home, there are many animals that need you! Fostering is a good way to help animals and find the one that fits you best.

5) Collect donations ( big or small) from friends, family, co-workers, etc. It costs over 16,000 a year just to buy hay. This does not include other foods, grooming, vet care, etc.

6) Ideas of how you would like to get involved to help the animals is appreciated and welcomed.

Our efforts to educate the public on the care of animals, to provide adoptions when needed and the development of a strong program of spaying and neutering will save the lives and suffering of countless animals and reduce the tax burden for our communities.
